Vanessa Evigan stars as Woodridge student Sara Valentine, fashion-obsessed, spoiled rotten, and born to party, for whom boarding school offers a convenient location from which to sample Manhattan's night life. Usually a terror to her roommates and a trial to her teachers, Sara is the self-declared princess in UPN's new half-hour comedy, Social Studies.
Much more outgoing and at ease than the character she plays, attractive Vanessa Evigan is the oldest of three children of television actor Greg Evigan (Melrose Place, The Dukes of Hazard,) and his wife, Pam. Ms. Evigan grew up in a show business household where there were always plenty of opportunities to observe actors at work.
Born in Burbank, California, Evigan was brought up in Toronto. She herself took to acting at a young age, first appearing in school plays. At the age of I 1, she landed the part of Jennie Clemens in the NBC comedy series Against the Grain. Among her other television credits are guest starring on Jack's Place, P.S. I Luv You, and My Two Dads. She also appeared in Tek War with William Shatner.
Evigan returned to Los Angeles to live before auditioning for the part of Sara. In her free time, she loves jazz dancing, singing and ice skating.
