
"America's Greatest Pets" will air Tuesdays from 9:00 p.m. ET/PT, with "Reunited" at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT, replacing "Mercy Point," which will be on telecast hiatus. "Malcom & Eddie" will switch to the 9:00 p.m. ET/PT time period on Mondays, with "The Secret Diary of Desmond Pfeiffer" moving to 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.
In making the announcement, Nunan said, "The introduction of two new programs on Tuesday is designed to improve our competitive adge on one of television's most vigorously contested nights. 'Malcolm and Eddie' has a loyal following, and we believe flipping the show to 9:00 will strenthen the entire hour.
Entertaining animal expert Jules Sylvester and captivating actress Ali Landry are the hands-on hosts of "America's Greatest Pets," a new half-hour series that delivers a variety of delightful stories on extraordinary feats by ordinary pets across the country. As a renowned Hollywood animal wrangler, Jules Sylvester's specialties are highly venomous reptiles, mass quantities of snakes and bugs, giant tarantulas and scorpions. He is featured on the Discovery Channel's "Animal Planet" and in widely seen in-theatre promotional messages for the Los Angeles Times. Actress Ali Landry's Doritos commercial stole the show during Super Bowl XXXII. The native of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, was crowned Miss USA in 1996.
The new half-hour comedy series, "Reunited" (formerly titled "Nicki") finds Nicki Beck, a wife, mother and congenial courtesy clerk at a major discount chain, living a simple, suburban lifestyle with her husband Gary and their red-headed seven-year-old, Ami. Nicki's quiet world is rocked when Joanne, a cynical misfit, arrives to declare she's the child Nicki gave up for adoption twenty years ago. Starring are Julie Hagerty ("Airplane"), Cliff Bemis (Naked Gun II 1/2"), Kelly De Martino and Renee Olstead ("The Chris Elliott Show"). The executive producers are Dee LaDuke and Mark Alton Brown. The series is a production of Castle Rock Television.
Now in its third season, "Malcolm & Eddie," returns to its former timeslot of Mondays at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. Starring Malcolm-Jamal Warner and Eddie Griffin, the series was UPN's highest rated comedy in Households, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49 during the 1997-98 season. The executive producer is David Duclon. The series is produced by TriStar Television.
"Malcolm & Eddie" will lead into the farcical comedy "The Secret Diary of Desmond Pfeiffer" at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT. Set during the Lincoln presidency, the fictitious series centers on ribald White House occurrences as recorded in the Diary of Desmond Pfeiffer, an English nobleman and valued confidante to Honest Abe. Starring are Chi McBride, Max Baker, Dann Florek and Christine Estabrook. The executive producers are Mort Nathan and Barry Fanaro. It is a production of Paramount Network Television.
