UPN Earns
Seven Primetime Emmy Nominations
for First Season Performance

LOS ANGELES, July 20, 1995 . . . For its first season on-air, UPN programming earned seven Primetime Emmy nominations for the upcoming 47th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, which were announced today in Los Angeles.

"Star Trek: Voyager," which is seen 8:00 p.m. Monday evenings on UPN, received a total of six Emmy Nominations in the following categories:

In addition, "The Watcher," an original anthology drama series that starred Grammy Award-winning rap artis Sir Mix-A-Lot, received one Emmy nomination in the following category:

At press time, several Emmy Nomination categories were still to be announced. These include Outstanding Visual Effects; Outstanding Individual Achievement in Directing for a Drama Series; and Outstanding Individual Achievement in Sound Editing.

The Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced on Sunday, September 10.

UPN, which premiered on Monday, January 16, 1995, currently covers more than 87% of all U.S. television viewing households. The network provides four hours of original, primetime programming every Monday and Tuesday from 8:00 - 10:00 p.m. (ET/PT). In addition, UPN also broadcast a two-hour weekend movie every Saturday afternnon from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. (ET/PT). And beginning in March, the network wll add two hours of Wednesday evening programming to its schedule.
