Bruce Greenwood stars as documentary photographer Thomas Veil, who, in the course of one terrifying evening, seemingly has his whole identity erased in the suspenseful drama, Nowhere Man. It appears as if someone or some force has coerced his wife, mother and closest friends into cooperating in a clandestine master plan to annul any trace of his life, leaving Veil no option but to begin a desperate, dangerous quest to find out why this has happened and most importantly, who is behind this torturous scheme.
Born in Quebec, Canada, Greenwood spent most of his childhood in Washington D.C. and Princeton, NJ, where his father was a professor. He then moved to Vancouver with his family where he lived until he was age 16. Graduating high school a year early, Greenwood went to Switzerland with his family and spent the next year pursuing his goal of becoming a professional skier. It was not until Greenwood attended the University of British Columbia that he decided to become serious about acting. Subsequently, he attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Greenwood's most widely recognized character to date in that of manipulative Dr. Seth Griffin on the highly praised television series St. Elsewhere. Since then, he has built a solid reputation as a skillful actor in an extensive range of roles on both television and the big screen. His many television credits include the recent mini-series, Naomi and Wynonna: Love Can Build A Bridge, The Companion, Bitter Vengeance, Adrift, Woman On Trial and The Beach Boys. He has also starred in such diverse films as Zalman King's "Wild Orchid," the action-thriller "Passenger 57." Last year, Greenwood starred as Francis in the acclaimed feature film "Exotica" which made its debut at the Cannes Film Festival, winning the International Critics' Prize.
Multi-talented, Greenwood composes music, writes lyrics, sings and plays the guitar. He is an expert skier and enjoys sailing and skydiving. When not acting or spending time outdoors, he runs a small recording studio where he produces radio plays and audio files for CD-ROM programs. "As long as I have a job and a guitar, I'm happy," he says.
Nowhere Man is a Lawrence Hertzog Production in association with Touchstone Television for broadcast on UPN.
