Until recently the female head of her Los Angeles household and accustomed to taking care of her father, Frank, and her little brother, Myles, Moesha must now cope with her father's new wife, Dee. Far from being the evil stepmother, Dee is a caring woman trying to take her rightful place in her husband's home. While Frank, Myles and next door neighbor and frequent mealtime guest Hakeem appreciate Dee's efforts, Moesha sees her new housemate as an intruder who has overtaken her role in the family.
Although her protective father has determined she not date until she's 16, Moesha, in true teenage girl fashion, finds a way to combine hanging with her girlfriends with hanging out with one special boy, performance artist Ohagi. After discovering that Ohagi was not what he appeared to be, Moesha finds comfort where she least expected to - with her stepmother Dee.
