Matt Goldman is executive producer of "DiResta," UPN's new half-hour comedy based on the real life of transit cop, stand-up comedian and family man John DiResta.
Goldman comes to "DiResta" after serving as co-executive producer during the freshman season of the comedy series "Working." He began his career as a stand-up comic, but segued into writing for television when he was recruited to write for the premiere season of "Seinfeld." He went on to work with Diane English as producer for the comedy series, "Love & War" and was also producer on "Ellen."
Goldman and John DiResta met when DiResta had a deal to create a series for ABC and was interviewing writers. Although that show never materialized, Goldman saw in DiResta a unique voice and genuine talent - fueled by his years as a transit cop in New York City. The two got together again and after a melding of both their family experiences and John's subway stories, "DiResta" was born.
Like the John DiResta in the series, Goldman is married and has two children, a two-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl.
