Jason Behr plays Max Evans, one of three aliens who have hidden their otherworldly identities behind human facades in the New Mexico town made famous by the supposed crash of an alien spacecraft in 1947. Based on "Roswell High," the book series by Melinda Metz, this suspenseful and affecting drama melds science fiction with the alienation of young adulthood. "Roswell" premieres this fall on UPN. This marks its third season.
Behr, a native of Minnesota, appeared in his first play when he was only five years old and continued to perform in theater throughout his childhood. After graduating high school, he moved to Los Angeles, where he quickly found work on such television shows as "Cracker" as well as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." He also had a recurring role on "Dawson's Creek."
On the feature side, the actor will soon be seen in Miramax's "The Shipping News," in which he co-stars alongside with Kevin Spacey, Cate Blanchett, Julianne Moore, Judi Dench and Scott Glenn for Academy Award-nominated director Lasse Hallstrom.
Other film credits include "Pleasantville," directed by Gary Ross, and the independent film "Rites of Passage," which won the top prize of Best Feature at the 2000 Santa Monica Film Festival.
Behr lives in Los Angeles.
