Bethells Beach is dramatic black sand beach at the mouth of the
Waitakere River and one that has been used on many occasions in
both Xena and Hercules.
The headland shown to the left of the picture should be especially
familar since it is featured in the Xena openning titles.
This beach is also the location for Xena's crucifixion in
Destiny and for the chariot race
against Callisto in The Return of
Callisto.
