Wayne Brady performs Wilson's hit song "Baby Work Out" on the re-created set of "America Bandstand." The tape day was especially memorable because Jackie Wilson's daughter Sabrina Wilson showed up on set to witness Brady transform into character.
Sabrina commented, "It was like watching my father perform again... Wayne really did a great job imitating his song, moves and mannerisms. It was amazing to witness."
"American Dreams" has attracted some of this year's top performers to appear as musical legends from the '60s including: Michele Branch as Lesley Gore, Ashanti as Dionne Warwick, Vanessa Carlton as Dusty Springfield, Usher as Marvin Gaye, India.Arie as Nina Simone and LeAnn Rimes as Connie Francis (airing March 30).
Possessing an uncanny ability to act, sing, dance, and make audiences laugh with equal aplomb, Wayne Brady does it all on "The Wayne Brady Show" which currently airs in nationally syndication through Buena Vista Television. For the man who has earned two Emmy nominations for his work on "Whose Line Is It Anyway?," this new series is the next logical step in a career which has been years in the making.
